SUSANNA BROWN
Susanna Brown is an internationally-renowned writer and curator specialising in photography. For many years, she held curatorial roles in Britain’s national museums, firstly at the National Portrait Gallery and subsequently at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The author of seven books on photography, she regularly presents lectures around the world and has featured in numerous television broadcasts, podcasts, and radio programmes.
High profile competitions including The Aesthetica Art Prize, The Google Photography Prize and The Hasselblad Award have appointed Susanna as a judge. She is currently Lecturer in Media and Digital Innovation at University of the Arts, London.
SEAN HARDY
Sean Hardy is an independent photographer and film-maker based in London. Having started out by taking a camera along to a local cyclocross race to figure out how to photograph these types of events, Sean progressed quickly to shooting some of the biggest races in the world for teams such as Ineos Grenadiers.
Sean won The Mark Gunter Photo Awards in 2021 with his shot of Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling's Lotta Henttala, and regularly contributes photography to Rouleur magazine.
James Startt
James got his start in cycling, both as a racer and photographer, while getting a Masters degree in Art history at Indiana University in the 1980’s. Since moving to France in 1992 he has collaborated with top cycling publications like Vélo Magazine and L’Equipe in France, Bicycling Magazine, Peloton Magazine and VeloNews in the U.S. as well as major publications such as Vanity Fair on an international level.
Startt’s cycling photography has been widely exhibited throughout his career, and he was awarded the gold medal in the 2021 World Sports Photography Awards. Joining Rouleur in 2022, James covers both the competitive side of the sport, along with its history and culture, with both words and images.
Antonio Colombo
Antonio Colombo balances between the worlds of art, design, industry and culture, having run Cinelli for the past four decades and Columbus tubing before that. It’s fair to say Colombo exists at the epicentre of the Italian bicycle industry, but as a life-long fan of art and design, he also runs his own gallery “Antonio Colmbo Arte Contemporanea” in Milan, specialising in contemporary works of young Italian artists.
Colombo’s ability to connect the worlds of art and bicycle design is perhaps best exemplified by his unique friendship with American pop artist Keith Haring. After meeting art gallery in the early 1980s they produced a one-off Cinelli Laser pursuit bike in 1989 with iconic matching disc wheels, custom-painted by Haring.
Véronique Rolland
Véronique Rolland is an artist whose work in still and moving image centres on our relationship with nature and the environment. Her work has been widely exhibited and acquired by major international collections including the National Portrait Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and Pompidou Centre, Paris.
Rolland began her career as a portrait photographer, undertaking editorial assignments for titles including the Sunday Times Magazine, the Guardian and the Independent, moving towards fine art projects in the early 2000s.
Alongside three critically acclaimed publications, Rolland is also the recipient of The Arts Foundation Fellowship in Portraiture.
