Attaquer launches new ‘All Day’ collection: ‘the most comfortable rubbish you’ll ever wear’

Australian brand Attaquer has never been afraid to do things differently. The clue's in the name: attaquer is a French word which refers to a rider with an attacking style. Attaquer picked this name because it represented the brand’s approach to the cycling industry, it wanted to make a splash, to change things, to attack the status quo. The ambition is nowhere more present than in the brand’s bold jersey designs, though it extends much further than this.

A key pillar of the brand’s ethos since its inception has been sustainability. Attaquer explains that this comes from the fact that the company is run by people who care about the environment, motivating them to create products that have a minimal impact on the world they are made to be ridden in. Today, the Australian brand has announced its new ‘All Day’ collection, made using recycled materials and proudly Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It’s described by Attaquer as “the most comfortable rubbish you’ll ever wear.”

The new ‘All Day’ collection is made up of jerseys and bib shorts in a range of different colours. The jerseys come in four different colorways: white, black, burnt orange and pine. Attaquer says that the jerseys have been “anatomically optimised, along with an updated shorter zipper length, to provide an unrivalled body-hugging fit perfect for the shortest to the very longest rides.”

Durability has been a key focus for the brand when designing the ‘All Day’ range. Flat locked seams, a supple construction and pre-dyed high density fabric are all parts of the jersey’s makeup that aid how long it lasts. Product sustainability is a key part of Attaquer’s ‘ATQ Promise’ where Attaquer pledges to “develop, source and recycle materials that inspire positive change on the bike and minimise our impact on the world we love to ride in.”

The strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible is at the heart of Attaquer’s design process. It begins in the Surry Hills, in the heart of Sydney, where Attaquer develops and tests products with the help of the local cycling community to ensure its garments go the distance. Attaquer also commits to making PFC-free products – PFC is a chemical found in DWR  (durable water repellent) coatings which can bioaccumulate in the environment and the brand also sends all of its orders in 100% compostable mailing bags. Attaquer says that it ensures that the brand it works with, such as car company Polestar, freight company DHL and Primaloft which helps insulate the brand’s Quilted Outerwear range, are equally as committed to reducing their environmental impact.

The second part of the new All Day collection is Attaquer’s redesigned All Day bib shorts. The brand says these bibs are “built for the long haul.” The women’s All Day bib shorts specifically have been redesigned from the ground up with new grippers and straps which aim to maximise comfort and support. Like on the All Day jersey, the bib shorts are made using pre-dyed lycra, flat locked seams and a compressive fit, The women’s shorts also feature a  women’s specific, ergonomically contoured chamois and come in ten different colourways.
